Janine Harrington is a choreographer, performer and writer with a background in dance, psychology and book arts. She makes interactive dance for outdoor/public and gallery spaces. In recent years she has shown work at arts festivals throughout the UK (3×3, The Performing Book, The Human Clock, The Bridge, Satelliser: a dance for the gallery) and in international contexts in the Netherlands and Belgium (screensaver, Satelliser: a dance for the gallery). Janine is involved in research around choreographic coding with collaborators in digital media and engineering, and is developing projects which will result in new tools for dance-making and imagine new spaces for dancing to happen. In 2011-12 she was BBC Performing Arts Fund choreography fellow with Independent Dance culminating in a performance for 47 dancers across the London Millennium Bridge. In 2016 she was artist in residence at Villa Empain, Brussels and at Brighton Digital Festival with South East Dance. She is currently developing two projects: SOME TIMES and screensaver series, alongside working as a performer, outside-eye and writer. www.janineharrington.com
Janine om hva hun ønsker å dele :
In these sessions we will move through a series of simple to more complex relational scores developed towards performance. Physical methodologies will be drawn mainly from my interactive dance works exploring improvisation, play, choreography as coding, danced-games, rule systems and puzzles. Sessions will be playful, communal and committed to figuring something out through dancing.
