Çağrı Erdem – repetitør

Çağrı Erdem (he/him) is a gonzo developer, interdisciplinary artist, and researcher specializing in musical artificial intelligence (AI), improvisation studies, and human-computer interaction. As a Ph.D. fellow with the RITMO centre at the University of Oslo, he expanded his research by combining theories and methods from the performing arts, computer science, and music cognition. His dissertation, “Controlling or Being Controlled? Exploring Embodiment, Agency and Artificial Intelligence in Interactive Music Performance,” investigated real-time sound and music control among human performers and artificial agents, with a particular focus on situating AI in an embodied, co-adaptive music performance context implemented as several interactive systems.
