Daniel Proietto

Daniel Proietto is an internationally acclaimed choreographer, performer, and director, known for his powerful and virtuosic presence on stage, as well as for his deeply interdisciplinary approach.

With a background in Classical Ballet and Contemporary Dance, his work integrates research into martial arts, Kabuki, Butoh, and gender identity — merging movement with theatricality, technology, politics, and philosophical inquiry.

He is the founder and Artistic Director of Know Nation, a pioneering platform for art films and education in performing arts, architecture, and design.

Daniel has collaborated with artists and institutions such as Alan Lucien Øyen, Russell Maliphant, Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui, Aurélie Dupont, Nick Knight, the Norwegian National Ballet, Paris Opera Ballet, Tanztheater Wuppertal, Wiener Staatsoper, Ballet Flanders, Snøhetta, among many others.

His solo and ensemble works aim to transform both personal and societal narratives through movement and humanity.
