Victor Amel Olivares Pedersen

“Victor Amel Olivares Pedersen is an Oslo based dancers and has worked both as part of companies and as a freelancer. His entry point to dance was through hip hop. He furthered by getting educated at the National Academy of the Arts in Oslo, where he attained his bachelors degree in Jazz dance(Graduation year 2019).

Victor started his professional carrier with Tabanka Dance Ensemble and worked there from 2014-2021. During this time he got in-depth training inn africanistic styles and performed on stages around the world.

Victor is working with Nagllehus Schia Productions, and in that context have been in productions with choreographers such as Daniel Proietto, Damian Jalet, Erna Omarsdottir and is currently a part of the production «Inn C» by Sasha Waltz. With Panta Rei Danseteater, he got the chance to coordinate, choreograph, and work on a solo with Inès Beli. He also played the role of snowboy in the Norwegian stage production of West side story. 

As a freelancer he has worked with choreographers like, Tendai Makarumbandi, Ida haugen, Rina Rosenqvist, Mark Brew, Tony Tran, Zezè Kolstad and Ingri Fiksdal.

Victor is interested in exploring emotions and how they translate to traceable movements. He is engaged with the combination of his knowledge of various styles to create strong expressions. He aims to create works that reflects how the «human condition» affects our perceived realities in various and abstract ways.”
