It is not a distinct dance style but rather an open concept that allows for the freedom to blend movements rooted in both modern and traditional African dance forms. \nWe will delve into the rich cultural tapestry of Africa\, exploring a wide range of African music\, incorporating movements and inspiration from various folk\, contemporary\, and street styles like Ndombolo\, Azonto\, Konto\, Pantsula\, Afrohouse\, and Amapiano\, among others. \nFreddy will guide you through engaging drills\, steps\, and choreographies\, focusing on body isolations\, footwork\, fluid movements\, and the infectious rhythms that define the various African dance genres. \nJoin in as we create a space where cultural exchange and creative expression intertwine. \n  \n

SUMMARY:CODA Workshop - Oona Doherty Company / Hilde I. Sandvold
DESCRIPTION:Informasjon om workshopen (krever påmelding): \nThe workshop will focus on the process and material of Navy Blue by Oona Doherty\, given through the perspective of Hilde Ingeborg Sandvold – freelance dance-artist in the cast of Navy Blue. \nWe will start with «drills for skills» – basic work that gets you warm and ready; checking balance\, mobility and coordination through practical exercises and simple floor-work in short phrases. \nThereafter\, we will learn some set material\, and lastly\, an improvised score\, both from Navy Blue. The materials will give us a chance to practice physical ability\, while also clarifying tools for how to perform with different forms of emotional/performative presence. \nThe set materials have elements of classical ballet\, whereas the scores can be interpreted through any form of dance training. \nRead more about the performance Navy Blue\, that will be performed at Dansens Hus under CODA Oslo International Dance Festival 2023: Navy Blue   \n  \nHilde Ingeborg Sandvold er danser og koreograf. Hun har laget kompanibestillinger for Corpus ved Det Kongelige Teater\, og flere soloverk\, blant dem «Dans\, for Satan» valgt til Aerowaves og Ice-hot 2018 og helaftensverket «GRÅTT» (2021). Som danser har hun samarbeidet med et stort antall koreografer over hele Europa.
