DESCRIPTION:Workshop i Kvens folkedans med Astrid Serine Hoel \nWorkshop-beskrivelse:\nAstrid Serine Hoel vil sammen med live musiker Trygve Beddari lære bort kvenske danser over to dager. Kvensk kunst og kultur har lenge vært utsatt for diskriminering og undertrykking gjennom fornorskningspolitikken som ble ført av den norske stat helt frem til på 60-tallet. Den kvenske dansen har vært ekstra utsatt fordi mange kvener også har levd som læstadianere\, en streng form for kristendom der dans blir sett på som syndig. Nå er de gamle kvenske dansene blåst nytt liv i!\n\nPå kurset vil dere blant annet få lære bjørnedans: en rituell dans som gjerne forgikk før og etter bjørnedansen\, tikkuristi: en konkurransedans med pinner\, kerenski: en parodisk dans som ble brukt for å vise motstand mot politikere og for å fremme ytringsfrihet\, og flere danser. Før hver dans får dere også innføring i den historiske og kulturelle bakgrunnen til hver enkelt dans.\n\nI 2025 skal det første kvenske dansekompaniet med navn Karhutanssi etableres\, bl.a av Astrid Serine Hoel og M. Seppola Simonsen. Lyd og bevegelse er alltid tett sammenvevd\, og en undersøkelse av disse uttrykkene er en kontinuerlig del av hennes kunstnerskap. I perioden 2019-2022 var hun tilknyttet Cullberg og skapte i to verk med kompaniet. \n\nThe workshop is related to Söderbergs artistic work.\nAlma Söderberg is a choreographer and performer that works with music and dance. She uses her voice and body to play space as if it was an instrument. Her ongoing research deals with how we listen as we look; the relation between the ear and the eye. \n“We will work on warming up both body and voice through different exercises\, a strong focus is on rhythmical work as well as how to connect the sound and a movement in a one-on-one manner in order to create an instrument with your body. We will work particularly with grounding and groove\, finding ways to access a physicality that is both laid back and rhythmically tight. This will be done through the help of music and different somatic tools. \nFurthermore\, we will focus on polyrhythm\, syncopation and synthesis. You will learn how to jam with polyrhythmic patterns\, played out with both body and voice. We will work with rhythmical syncopation\, creating a way of perceiving our dance as a rhythmical thing\, as an ever-varying division of time in terms of rhythm. Finally\, synthesis has to do with working on a detail level; making slight changes in tonus\, tone\, speed\, intensity etc. in order to make change really matter and to open up both your own and eventually the audience’s ability to perceive more and come closer to the dance.” \nAlma Söderberg has grounded her practice in a number of solo performances in which she developed an idiorhythmic way of creating. In the two ongoing musicprojects wowawiwa and John the Houseband\, she has worked in collaboration with the other artists Anja Muller\, Dennis Deter\, Hendrik Willekens\, Roger Sala Reyner and Melkorka Sigridur Magnusdottir. In all her works she collaborates closely with the sound artist Hendrik Willekens. DESCRIPTION:Workshop med Alma Söderberg \nAlma Söderberg er utøver og koreograf med base i Malmö. Hun turnerer verkene sine på hovedscenene og de viktigste festivalene over hele Europa. Söderbergs verk er preget av en sterk og tydelig sammenheng mellom dans\, musikk og stemme. Lyd og bevegelse er alltid tett sammenvevd\, og en undersøkelse av disse uttrykkene er en kontinuerlig del av hennes kunstnerskap. I perioden 2019-2022 var hun tilknyttet Cullberg og skapte i to verk med kompaniet. \n\nThe workshop is related to Söderbergs artistic work.\nAlma Söderberg is a choreographer and performer that works with music and dance. She uses her voice and body to play space as if it was an instrument. Her ongoing research deals with how we listen as we look; the relation between the ear and the eye. \n“We will work on warming up both body and voice through different exercises\, a strong focus is on rhythmical work as well as how to connect the sound and a movement in a one-on-one manner in order to create an instrument with your body. We will work particularly with grounding and groove\, finding ways to access a physicality that is both laid back and rhythmically tight. This will be done through the help of music and different somatic tools. \nFurthermore\, we will focus on polyrhythm\, syncopation and synthesis. DESCRIPTION:Workshop med Carte Blanche og danser David Lorenc – HOW ROMANTIC \nI denne workshopen vil danser Dawid Lorenc sammen med deltakere utforske bevegelsesmateriale til Carte Blanches nyeste forestilling HOW ROMANTIC av Katerina Andreou. \nKaterina Andreou er født i Athen og bor i Frankrike. Hun er kjent for verk som A Kind of Fierce (2016)\, som vant pris ved ImPulsTanz-festivalen\, BSTRD (2018)\, Rave to Lament (2021) og Bless This Mess (2024).\nHun utvikler unike fysiske praksiser for hvert prosjekt og skaper selv lydlandskapene som er sentrale i forestillingene hennes. \nWorkshopen vil starte med oppvarming\, og etterpå utforske de forskjellige oppgavene og metodene som la grunnlaget for HOW ROMANTIC. \n  \nDAWID LORENC ble født i 1987 i Połczyn Zdrój\, Polen.\nHan begynte å danse på slutten av 1990-tallet takket være moren som arbeidet som akrobatlærer og samtidsdansekoreograf. Som 16-åring begynte han i Witolds Jurewicz «Alter» Dance Theatre i Kalisz\, Polen. \nFra 2006 studerte han ved P.A.R.T.S. i Brussel. Etter å ha fullført treningssyklusen var han med i kompaniet Ultima Vez. I 2012 flyttet Dawid tilbake til Polen for å samarbeide med Jacek Owczarek og researche på improvisasjon og prosessarbeid. \nI løpet av Dawids karriere har han jobbet med mange kunstnere og vært involvert i ulike prosjekter i Europa. Han underviser i samtidsdans\, kroppsbevissthet og kontaktimprovisasjon. \nDawid har vært ansatt i Carte Blanche siden 2016. \n  \nFoto: Øystein Haara
