SUMMARY:Dansens Hus x PRODA Workshop - Karolina Bieszczad-Stie
DESCRIPTION:Dancing Between Systems \nThis workshop invites dancers from different backgrounds to explore how movement can meet ideas from outside the dance field — from technology and science to abstract systems of thought. Together we will look at how the body can sense\, translate\, and reshape the unfamiliar through choreographic exploration. Using guided improvisations inspired by Butoh imagery\, micro-phenomenological reflection and collaborative creation of new movement vocabularies\, we will alternate between dancing\, talking\, sensing\, and thinking. No prior experience with science or technology is needed — curiosity and openness are enough. \nKarolina Bieszczad-Stie is a choreographer and researcher based in Oslo. She earned her Ph.D. in Performing Arts from Brunel University London in 2010 and runs Butoh Encounters\, a platform exploring dance in the context of the sciences and new technologies. Karolina collaborates regularly with Norwegian research institutions such as the Centre for Cancer Cell Reprogramming (UiO)\, MotionLab (UiA)\, and SINTEF\, as well as with engineers\, physicists\, and software developers. Her work supports initiatives that connect choreography and dance with forward-looking reflections on the future and our capacity to shape it. \n  \nWorkshopen arrangeres i forbindelse med at Karolina Bieszczad-Stie viser sitt verk Turbulent Flows på Dansens Hus 23. – 25. april. \nTurbulent Flows er en hypnotisk danseopplevelse der fysikkens lover møter menneskelig sårbarhet og styrke. Inspirert av turbulente strømmer og naturens egne kaotiske\, skapende krefter\, kaster koreograf Karolina Bieszczad-Stie danseren inn i et levende landskap av lys\, lyd\, røyk og bevegelse. \nWorkshopen er arrangert i samarbeid med Dansens Hus\, og er endel av Dansens Hus PRO.
