SUMMARY:CODA WORKSHOP med Meagan O'Shea
DESCRIPTION:CODA workshop med Meagan O’Shea \nWorkshop description:\nMeagan leads participants through an Interdisciplinary Solo Making practice using her own Oblique/Switch methodology and contemporary performance making strategies through improvisation. In this workshop dancers work with a core idea or seed\, make a mind map and explore individually together. \nMeagan O’Shea is one of the creator/performers of XwomXnseX STEAM: a participatory sauna ritual as part of the CODA-festival. The project was created as a continuation to the stage show XwomXnseX which brought the collaborators’ solos together into a bigger work. \nIn the workshop Meagan leads an improvisation workshop with her dance-theatre mash-up practice\, «Oblique/Switch» which follows the process of how she creates solo work based on personal experience. Which is how XwomXnseX stage version was created and from that came XwomXnseX: STEAM. \nMeagan has created 9 solo shows\, using her signature dance-theatre mash-up which draws on her training in contemporary dance\, choreography\, site-responsive creation\, devised theatre\, storytelling\, clown and comedy. To this she adds DIY Spectacle and through improvisation generates material through her Oblique/Switch methodology. Interested in the third impulse\, the oblique response to a provocation – not the obvious\, or the opposite\, but maybe something beside the opposite\, in order to discover a new perspective\, challenging dominant paradigms and offering an alternative to the binary. \nRead more about Meagan here. \nXwomXnseX STEAM\, på CODA-festivalen:\n16 og 17 oktober\, Oslo Badstuforening\, Sukkerbiten\nEt kvinnelig kunstnerkollektiv inviterer til et guidet\, intimt badstue-rituale for kvinner i alle aldre under årets CODA-festival. \nBak initiativet står et kunstnerkollektiv bestående av kanadiske dansekunstner Meagan O’Shea og søstrene Liv Hanne og Anne Katrine Haugen\, grunnleggere av Haugen Produksjoner i Tromsø. Haugen produksjoner skaper forestillinger som kombinerer dokumentar og fiksjon\, og har som mål å bringe hverdagen inn i teatret – og teatret inn i hverdagen. \nHovedarrangør for workshopen er CODA Oslo International Dance Festival.\nPRODA er medarrangør. \n\n
