Class description:
\nThe class offers a series of \u00abdrills for skills\u00bb – basic work that gets you warm and checks
\nbalance, mobility and coordination through practical exercises, simple floor-work and
\nfootwork in short phrases. The goal of my classes is to practice, find and define tools that
\nhelps us increase the amounts of habits in our bodies – materials that are deeply rooted
\nand therefore readily available for us when entering artistic processes. I will share both the drills themselves, and the thoughts and strategies they are based on – encouraging
\nwhoever joins the class to find a way of working that sparks joy and motivation.<\/p>\n
In the class I draw on knowledge from physiotherapists that have helped me reduce, heal
\nand avoid injury, different martial arts (specifically; Jiu-jitsu, Taekwondo and Wing Tsuen) that have given me a practical way to enter complex physical material, and
\nchoreographers such as David Zambrano who taught me how to go in and out of the
\nfloor. Furthermore, I am inspired by different types of European folk-dance and styles
\nstemming from the African diaspora such as Chicago footwork and house.<\/p>\n
The class is mainly set materials, with moments of more open exploration.<\/p>\n
